What Would Hegel Do?

Damn you act one! Break, damn it. My head is rammed firmly into the entrails of what will ultimately be the third draft. Hopefully in time for the anniversary of the first draft, for those of you keeping score at home. Describing the below to Emily, she said if I were an economist I would be a macro-economist. It’s also, unfortunately for her, how I argue. A little tactic we like to affectionately call going global. Can I get a witness from my Virgo brothers and sisters? Gotta solve the whole thing at once, amirite?

Anyhow thanks to Hegel, here’s a breakdown of the plot, which I constructed from the bottom up, from the end to the beginning, and which therefore helped me zero in on what must be accomplished in the first act, besides all that get-to-know-you nonsense…

I would like to thank Norwegian rocker Ida Maria for her album’s help in making this graph.

  • The Pizzicato Effect

In classical music, Pizzicato is the plucking of a muted string on a violin. The effect (in my opinion) is the indication of the note for your heart to play.

This can also be achieved in directing. We do not go to the theater to admire an actor have an emotion. We go to have the emotion for ourselves.

The Pizzicato Effect is theatre and film in their highest forms. This is what I'm after.
