Standing on Mount Olympus one enterprising afternoon, Zues dispatched two eagles flying in opposite directions. Where they met again, surmised he, on the other side of the world, would be the oomphalos, or navel, of the universe.
Oomphalos is one part stand-up comedy, one part mind-body reconnaissance, and one part motivational allocution. Forged out of the kind of molten existential crisis that haunts only the brokest and panickiest of mid-career stage directors, Oomphalos dares -- through the use of dry-erase markers, rubber bands, charts, graphs and a whiteboard -- to double-click on the Universe, that we may catch a glimpse of what awaits us in this chrysalis-bursting century.
Audience members hear stories, theories and bizarre facts as they are gently equipped for the uncertainty ahead.
