I talk in Oomphalos about nouns, about licking the nouns like lollipop heads as they fly out of your mouth and splat on the inner slideshow of the listener. We tend to blink right after nouns in conversation as we listen. We wait for nouns like stepping stones to get a purchase on the image someone talking to us conveys. Nouns are morsels of meaning.

But here's the thing: verbs mean we're alive. If life had never developed on this arbitrary third planet and the cosmos was simply a bunch of gas and rocks swirling around with no life to contemplate it, there would still be nouns. But verbs are what we DO. To each other and to the world.
